The Little Black Dress
This course highlights the iconic little black dress of Channel. The requirement was to find an inspiration around the color “Black”.
I served as an operations officer in the unit for personal security, where the bodyguards were AKA “shadows”.
I chose Shadow and Optical illusion as my subject.
(Third Year Project)
Shadow is an optical illusion – a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by a opaque object. It occupies the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. I have investigated the Victorian age, where women wore corsets and crinolines to make an illusion of the famine silhouette to secure their body and physically keep away the environment.
In my design, I have changed the Victorian raffle from its original 3D to a 2D element and used velvet, vinyl, foil and glitter to imitate the shadow .
